Shift Available:
Swing 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM;
Graveyard 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM. Graveyard differential: $2.50.
Northwest Human Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our Crisis & Information Hotline Team. This 24/7 program provides immediate crisis intervention, resources, and support to individuals in urgent need. The role supports all 988 calls in Marion and Polk counties and serves as after-hours crisis support for various community partners. Specialists offer follow-up care and advocacy based on client needs.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain/maintain a QMHA-R level certification (Certifications - MHACBO).
- Provide immediate emotional support to individuals in distress, including those with suicidal thoughts.
- Conduct risk assessments and offer brief counseling over the phone.
- Create safety plans and connect clients to appropriate services.
- Support all 988 calls in Marion and Polk counties and provide after-hours crisis support for community partners.
- Offer follow-up care and advocacy as warranted by client needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or behavioral health sciences, or a combination of at least three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-crisis situations.
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models.
- Demonstrated ability to practice self-reflection.
- Work some holidays and weekends.
- This is an onsite position.
- Due to the nature of the position, there are no scheduled lunch breaks. As a 24/7 program, flexibility in managing breaks and meals during shifts is required. Employees are expected to remain on-call for client support throughout their shift.
