The Director of Pharmacy – Oncology & Infusion Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership to ensure the safe, effective, and financially responsible use of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biosimilars, bi‑specifics, and supportive care medications across infusion services. While oncology represents the majority of services, this role also provides practice‑wide pharmacy support across specialties.

This is a working Pharmacy Director role, maintaining direct clinical involvement while building infrastructure and leading pharmacy services. This role advances high‑quality, patient‑centered care by integrating evidence‑based pharmacotherapy, regulatory excellence, and operational stewardship in a community‑based setting. The Director supports recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of future pharmacists and pharmacy staff as services expand.

The Director oversees clinical pharmacy practice, admixing and dispensing, formulary and biosimilar strategy, regulatory compliance, inventory and cost management, quality assurance, and staff development. This position balances clinical excellence with financial stewardship to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable specialty infusion services that support organizational growth and exceptional patient outcomes.

This role collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative leaders to design, implement, and continuously improve clinical, operational, and safety practices across infusion services.

Sign‑On Bonus & Relocation Support
  • We offer up to $8,000 in relocation assistance
  • We offer a $15,000 sign‑on bonus, with $10,000 paid at hire and $5,000 paid after one year

The pay range is between $186,000–$242,000 per year.

Clinical Leadership & Responsibilities
  • Provide expert oncology and specialty pharmacotherapy consultation to physicians and nursing staff
  • Review and verify chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and specialty infusion treatment orders for appropriateness, safety, and evidence‑based alignment
  • Perform or oversee regimen reviews to ensure safety, evidence‑based alignment, and patient‑specific appropriateness
  • Provide advanced clinical consultation on drug interactions, supportive care, and complex medication‑related questions
  • Serve as a clinical escalation resource for high‑risk or complex pharmacotherapy decisions
  • Lead development and maintenance of drug‑specific protocols, order sets, and treatment pathways
  • Assess patient‑specific factors including renal/hepatic function, lab values, performance status, drug interactions, and contraindications
  • Support adverse event management and optimization of supportive care regimens
  • Promote safe and effective use of biosimilars and emerging therapies
Pharmacy Operations & Oversight
  • Direct day‑to‑day pharmacy operations for infusion services, including admixing, verification, and medication distribution workflows
  • Provide direct management and oversight of all pharmacy admix staff across sites with employed pharmacy personnel, with responsibility for supervising future pharmacists as the team expands
  • Ensure safe and compliant sterile and hazardous drug preparation in accordance with USP / and regulatory standards
  • Establish workflow efficiencies, double‑check systems, and technology utilization (EHR and pharmacy platforms)
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure medication availability while minimizing waste and expired product
  • Implement dose rounding and waste reduction strategies aligned with payer and organizational policies
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Serve as the responsible leader for pharmacy regulatory compliance (Board of Pharmacy, USP, OSHA, DEA)
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of pharmacy and infusion‑related policies, procedures, protocols, and standard operating practices
  • Maintain inspection readiness and support accreditation activities
  • Oversee medication safety and hazardous drug programs
  • Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety reviews
