Position: Transition & Children Services Direct Support Professional (DSP-T&C)

Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional on the Transition & Children's Services team, you will help children aged 10 to 18 build stable lives, learn essential life skills, form friendships, and develop effective communication skills. You will receive advanced training in mental health and positive behavioral support.

Wages & Benefits

Wage: $20 per hour.
Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 paid in increments efits include medical, dental, vision, life, supplemental insurance, FSA, 401(K), gym discounts, and other lifestyle discounts for full‑time employees.

Job Duties
  • Distribute medications, cook, house clean, manage challenging behaviors, and provide intimate care for men and women.
  • Promote and implement PCL’s mission in the lives of those we support.
  • Provide a stable living environment by respecting dignity, individual choice, input, and health and safety needs.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have basic computer skills and a willingness to learn agency applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Cooperative and willing to learn.
  • Ability to interpret instructions.
  • Enhanced math skills; able to balance a budget and perform basic transactions.
  • Professional, clear, and positive oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English (reasonable accommodation may be made).
  • Dependable, reliable, consistent work attendance and adherence to attendance policies.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and transfer at least 25 pounds; some positions may require more.
  • Respond efficiently to emergencies and crises, including the use of physical intervention.
Certifications and Training
  • Pass required DHS background check and Protective Service Investigations.
  • Require a valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive agency vehicles.
  • Complete and maintain all required certifications:
    Oregon Intervention System, CPR, Mandatory Abuse Reporter.
  • Complete new hire orientation and on‑site training within 60 days.
Travel Required

Yes. Must be able to drive agency vehicles.
