Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday

Your role with us

Make a direct impact on patient comfort, mobility and recovery by providing skilled orthopedic support throughout the healing process. Work alongside orthopedic surgeons and clinical teams to apply, remove and assess casts, braces and other immobilization devices while helping ensure each patient receives safe, individualized care. Serve as a trusted resource for patients and families by providing clear education on orthotic devices, answering questions and helping them feel confident in their care port clinical excellence by coordinating cast room procedures, providing staff education and maintaining accurate documentation, supplies and an organized patient care environment.

This role offers a rewarding combination of hands‑on technical skill, patient interaction and collaboration while helping patients move safely toward recovery.

What you'll do

  • Provide quality orthopedic care by applying, removing and assessing casts, braces and other immobilization devices.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and clinical staff to review patient needs, imaging and appropriate immobilization options.
  • Coordinate cast room procedures while developing and providing training and continuing education for clinic staff.
  • Educate patients and families on the proper use, care and wearing of orthotic devices both in person and by telephone.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized cast room environment while completing accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.
  • Manage clinic supplies and medications by receiving, storing, stocking and distributing items to appropriate clinical areas.
  • Monitor inventory and par levels and order supplies to ensure necessary cast, brace and clinical materials remain readily available.

Required qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be either a Registered Orthopedic Technologist (through the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals), or, an Orthopedic Technologist Certified (through National Association of Orthopedic Technologists).
  • A minimum of two years in a medical facility or a medical office.

Additional information

  • Must have knowledge of all types of orthopedic surgery and state-of-the-art of cast management including all types of current forms of immobilization from plaster cast technique to the latest types of plastic and fiberglass casting, bracing, and orthotic.
  • Must possess knowledge of musculoskeletal system, anatomy and physiology as related to fractures, fracture care, and various anomalies.
  • Must understand orthopedic disease processes and their effect on the musculoskeletal system.
