Histology Technologist, Histology Technician

• Perform embedding, cutting via microtome, and prepare slides
• Perform routine H&E, immunohistochemical, and special staining procedures
• Perform and document scheduled instrument maintenance
• Recognize when troubleshooting is needed for processing, embedding, cutting, and staining
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with privacy and security standards when accessing Protected Health Information

• 6 months of histology laboratory experience, including embedding and cutting
• HT/HTL certification or graduation from a school of Histotechnology may be accepted in lieu of experience
• Strong reading, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to safely operate general laboratory equipment
• ASCP HT/HTL certification is preferred
• Graduation from a CAHEA/NAACLS-accredited school of Histotechnology is preferred
• Documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience is preferred
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of Protected Health Information and follow privacy and security standards

Demonstrates expertise in histology techniques, including embedding, cutting, and staining procedures, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality control standards. Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations in a laboratory environment.
