American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT and Oregon OBMI licensure and 1+ year experience for a fast-paced hospital Radiation Oncology department.

Requirements
  • ARRT National Radiology license required
  • Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) state licensure required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year Radiation Therapy experience
  • Successful completion of a Radiation Therapy program required
  • Experience with Varian True Beam or Edge and Aria required
  • Familiarity with Varian Trilogy, Acuity, and GE Lightspeed CT preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to perform simple Rad Calc calculations for emergency treatments
  • Ability to safely transfer patients using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques
  • Skilled in beam modifying/positioning, block cutting, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, wedges, and treatment plan calculations
Responsibilities
  • Hospital Radiation Oncology department setting
  • Day shift, 4x10 hours, 6:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
  • 13 week contract with no call required
  • Fast-paced environment treating 70-95 patients per day across three treatment machines
  • Uses Varian True Beam or Edge and Varian Trilogy linear accelerators, plus GE Lightspeed CT
  • Uses Aria for electronic charting
  • Performs SBRT, SRS, and Breath hold Visual Management techniques
  • May be required to float to nearby affiliated facilities, including West Valley Hospital
  • Simulate and administer radiation treatments per Radiation Oncologist prescription and Physicist/Dosimetrist direction
  • Interpret prescriptions and treatment plans and complete patient identification procedures
  • Maintain audio/visual surveillance of patients and consistently position patients for treatment
  • Image and annotate portal images as directed by the Radiation Oncologist
  • Observe and report patient side-effects or unusual reactions to appropriate clinical staff
  • Construct quality immobilization devices and fabricate custom blocks
  • Participate in daily chart rounds and complete Aria chart checks per department policy
  • Complete weekly block room cleaning and HEPA filter checks with documentation
  • Coordinate simulation scheduling with clinic to support continuity of care
  • Former Salem Health employees are not eligible for assignment until six months after termination date
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated
