Health insurance can be complicated. For many people, understanding their options, completing an application, or keeping coverage active can be the difference between getting the care they need and going without it.

As an Eligibility, Enrollment, and Outreach Specialist, you’ll help remove those barriers both inside our clinics and out in the community. A key part of this role is working aboard our Mobile Healthcare Unit and traveling to rural communities to bring healthcare navigation, insurance enrollment assistance, and community resources directly to people where they live and work.

You’ll help patients, clients, and community members understand their health insurance options, apply for and maintain OHP coverage, access sliding fee discounts, and connect with resources that support their overall well-being.

• Understand their health insurance and benefit options.
• Apply for and maintain OHP coverage.
• Navigate OHP enrollment, renewals, recertification, and changes.
• Access sliding fee discounts when they are uninsured or underinsured.
• Connect with medical, behavioral health, dental, and community resources.
• Identify resources that address barriers such as housing, transportation, food, and other social needs.
• Stay connected to healthcare by helping prevent gaps in coverage.

• Patient & Community Advocate → You listen without judgment, build trust, and help people navigate systems that may feel overwhelming or difficult to understand.
• Health Insurance Educator → You can explain complex eligibility and enrollment information in a clear, understandable way and help people make informed decisions about their coverage.
• Culturally Responsive Communicator→ You communicate with compassion and respect across different cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences.
• Resource Navigator → You are curious and resourceful, connecting people with healthcare, benefits, and community services that can address their individual needs.
• Outreach & Relationship Builder → You are comfortable engaging people by phone and in the community. You enjoy representing an organization, starting conversations, and helping people discover resources they may not know are available

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Oregon driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
