Psychiatric Physician Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate Psychiatric & Physician Assistant to provide medical services at a recovery facility specializing in addiction and mental health treatment.

• Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and evidence-based practices.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including medication management and detox protocols.
• Utilize electronic health records for documentation such as admission evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medication orders, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
• Screen for substance use, pain, and nutritional deficiencies, developing individualized treatment plans and referring to specialists as needed.
• Participate in on-call duties, providing responsive coverage and ensuring availability within one hour for emergencies.
• Collaborate with medical and facility leadership to support quality improvement, care standards, and care level changes, including peer reviews.
• Supervise and support other healthcare providers, including Physician Assistants, and assist in developing cost-effective treatment strategies.

include graduation from an accredited Master’s program, licensure as a PA, DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances, and training in opioid and substance use disorder management. Experience in addiction medicine and familiarity with healthcare standards like JCAHO and ASAM are preferred. Strong communication skills and knowledge of performance improvement principles are essential.
