Your role with us

As an anesthesia technician at Salem Health, you’ll play a vital hands-on role in supporting safe, seamless surgical care for patients across our operating and procedural environments. You’ll be a trusted member of a highly skilled perioperative team, ensuring that anesthesia providers have the equipment, supplies, and technical support they need to deliver exceptional care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting, enjoys solving problems in real time, and finds purpose in work that directly impacts patient outcomes.

What you'll do

• Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and patient monitoring equipment in all operating and procedural rooms to ensure readiness for each case.
• Retrieve blood products and prepare, assemble, and operate cell saver and rapid infuser equipment following department competencies and procedural guidelines.
• Perform mechanical administration of medications under the direction and in the presence of a credentialed licensed provider.
• Assist with patient transport and maintain a calm, organized presence in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage inventory of anesthesia supplies, restock medications and equipment, and place orders to maintain par levels.
• Identify safety hazards, communicate clinical priorities, and collaborate closely with the patient care team to ensure smooth surgical workflows.
• Demonstrate competency in EKG monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition to support patient safety.

Required qualifications

• Associate degree
  - Graduate of an Anesthesia Technologist program.
  
  Two years of direct Anesthesia Technician experience in an acute hospital setting may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardio Life Support
  - Required within 30 days of hire.
