* The role:

** Join our team as a
** circuit rider**, where you will develop, design and deliver training to various Oregon public works agencies across the state. In this role, you will evaluate and assess training needs and provide information regarding training issues related to transportation and transportation technology.  You will participate in the planning of short- and long-term training goals and effectiveness, utilize various training evaluation tools and makes necessary modifications and develop new training.

**** This is a part-time position. The posted salary/pay range for this announcement is based on full-time hours; the salary will be prorated for part-time hours.
** This position can be based in Salem or anywhere in the state. This is a traveling trainer position, and an office location will be assigned within the ODOT Region the employee resides.

**** A day in the life:
*** Continually assess training needs, as well as develop and deliver training courses aimed at training and development of employees and supervisors of local Oregon public works agencies.
* Deliver courses that cover local public works agency training needs in areas of driver and vehicle safety, safe operation of equipment, work zone safety, road and street maintenance practices, incident and emergency management and a range of topics related to road construction, operations and maintenance.
* Evaluate effectiveness of training and training methods.
* Represent the Oregon Technology Transfer Center through site visits to local agency public works offices in Oregon and through attendance and participation in local public works events.
* Determine customer needs, provide information and technical assistance, collect and communicate information on innovations and new technology and gather feedback.
* Participate, planning and preparation for training events.
* Attend Steering Committee meetings of the Oregon Technology Transfer Center.
* Drive to local agency public works offices throughout Oregon for site visits, technical assistance, and training presentations.
* Work in a standard office environment with statewide travel required for training.
* This is a part-time position, which typically works between 50 and 150 hours per month. The position is assigned a “non-regular work schedule”, where the numbers of hours worked on a daily basis and start and stop times vary.
