OverviewThe Oregon State Police requires a single Information Systems Specialist 4 to provide technical support, installation, training, and maintenance for personnel across state offices.
Responsibilities• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot personal computers, connected devices, and local area network issues.
• Provide proactive on‑site and remote technical support to end users.
• Design, maintain, and support the department’s Internet and intranet websites.
• Produce technical reports and provide information to management.
- Three (3) years of information systems experience in desktop and technical support, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, operating system, and basic network connectivity issues; installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting client devices and software; and providing remote and on‑site support in a distributed business environment.
- OR an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or completion of a two‑year accredited vocational training program in information technology or a related field.
- AND at least one (1) year of information systems experience in desktop and technical support, including the same skill set described above.
- Hands‑on technical support in mission‑critical environments with limited downtime tolerance, across multiple locations or remote worksites.
- Ability to prioritize competing support requests under shifting operational demands while working independently and following established policies and escalation procedures.
- Experience supporting standardized workstation environments, controlled configurations, and agency‑approved software deployments in a secure enterprise setting.
- Proficiency with ticketing, incident‑management, or work‑order systems to document, prioritize, track, and resolve support requests.

Current Oregon State Police AFSCME Local 896 employees who meet minimum qualifications are given internal preference.
