A Vertica Senior Technical Support Engineer at Rocket Software provides advanced Tier 3 support for complex customer environments. This role involves independently troubleshooting escalated issues, performing detailed root cause analysis, and mentoring junior engineers to drive overall team effectiveness.

• Strong Linux Expertise: Deep understanding of Linux distributions (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), including file systems, memory management, and package management.
• Database Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Vertica Architecture Knowledge: Solid understanding of Vertica’s columnar architecture, including projections, encoding, and compression techniques.
• Advanced Troubleshooting
  
  Skills:
  
  Experience using Vertica Management Console and performance tuning tools to identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
• Cloud & Storage
  
  Experience:
  
  Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly object storage technologies.
• Systems & Networking Knowledge: Understanding of TCP/IP networking and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
• Vertica
  
  Experience:
  
  Prior hands‑on experience supporting or working with Vertica is strongly preferred.

Annual salary range for this position is between $89,000.00 - $ gross before taxes.
