Oregon Eligibility Partnership (OEP), part of Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), is looking for talented individuals with a passion for public service to apply for our Benefit & Eligibility Software Testing Specialist, Operations & Policy Analyst 1. In this role, you will analyze defect fixes, research design documents, and other resources, write test cases, execute test cases, and communicate/coordinate testing efforts with business partners.
SummaryOf Duties
The purpose of this position is to act as a resource to staff for policy and procedures, and to oversee the benefit and eligibility process to ensure that programs are determined correctly. To participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) through research and analysis of reported defects, supporting case documentation, use cases, business and technical detailed solutions design specifications (DSDs); development and execution of test scripts (specific test cases, conditions and procedures) which conform to software testing standards, agency guidelines and regulations, and which demonstrate system functionality prior to release to the production environment.
Also, responsible for identifying and reporting defects found during user acceptance testing. Develops system knowledge to become a subject matter expert resource for staff on functionality, and software testing standards. Works independently and collaboratively with other business, system business analysts and technical staff.
- Execute software test cases as specified to verify that system outputs comply with specifications and standards.
- Develop initial (mock) data to support test cases performance.
- Perform test scripts with analytic care and scrutiny.
- Expand additional ad hoc testing, as needed to further evaluate, or clarify system behavior to similar preconditions.
- Document all test results, screens, steps, outcomes, and other relevant system behavior in the designated test tracking/defect management repository(is).
- Compile and analyze test results to draw pass/fail conclusions and propose appropriate disposition, escalation, severity, and priority, as specified by defined process. Inform appropriate go/no-go decision makers based on test results and defect analysis.
- Plan and do analytical research related to testing of software enhancements; prepare written test cases and procedures for use in test execution, to assess and report the extent of success or failure of each software fix or enhancement, based on business requirements and design specifications.
- Evaluate business requirements, design specifications and other support documentation in order to develop specific testable conditions with corresponding pass/fail criteria.
- Obtain data from interviews or other sources to evaluate quality software fixes and enhancements.
- Collaborates with business operations and policy units, Triage team senior analysts, test team lead and others as needed regarding change requests, requirements, and design solutions to understand testable conditions and business expectations on results.
- Regular work schedule with a normal workday of 8 hours, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Compensated overtime may be required when pre-approved by supervisor.
