Service Desk Technician

Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused Service Desk Technician I/II to join a busy IT support team serving multiple agencies throughout Oregon. This role is ideal for someone with strong help desk experience who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end users, and delivering outstanding customer service.

The selected candidate will provide Tier I and Tier II support for approximately 1,800 users across a diverse agency environment. This is a great opportunity to work in a structured IT organization with established processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support via phone, email, remote support, and walk-up assistance.

+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

+ Triage, prioritize, and process service requests and incidents through the ITSM platform.

+ Support Microsoft 365 applications and services.

+ Assist users in Windows-based environments.

+ Escalate complex issues when appropriate and ensure timely resolution.

+ Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting a diverse user community.

+ Document incidents, resolutions, and support activities accurately.

Required Qualifications

+ Experience in a Help Desk, Service Desk, or Technical Support role.

+ Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments.

+ Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services.

+ Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with Ivanti ITSM.

+

Experience with Beyond Trust (Bomgar) remote support tools.

+ Previous experience supporting government, enterprise, or large-scale user environments.

+ Tier II support experience.

Additional Information

+ Team is currently expanding support services and requires additional staff coverage.

+ Hybrid work environment may be available; local candidates who can periodically work onsite are strongly preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Salem, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
