Position Title
Transportation Operations and Maintenance Manager 2 – Assistant District Manager
LocationEstacada, Oregon (District 2C, Region
1)
- Serve as the main contact with cities, counties, utilities and other agencies.
- Prepare and negotiate service agreements with local governments.
- Review and approve driveway and access requests to state highways.
- Work with local governments to support and protect the transportation network.
- Help identify and advise on maintenance and improvement projects.
- Monitor winter maintenance operations to support public safety.
- Develop and oversee maintenance projects and contracts.
- Respond to public questions and represent ODOT’s position.
- Help prepare and monitor the maintenance budget.
- Assist in supervising staff, assigning work, supporting hiring processes and identifying training needs.
- Travel district‑wide during the day; on‑call for emergency responses up to 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
- Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience.
- OR
- Three (3) years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Driving is an essential function of this position.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver license and an acceptable driving record.
- Pre‑employment driving record checks will be conducted on the final candidate(s).
- License does not have to be issued in Oregon.
- Experience managing contractors and small contracts.
- Ability to apply highway engineering concepts and read plans and blueprints.
- Experience managing personnel.
- Experience working with various stakeholders including individuals, private groups and other agencies.
- Experience working with transportation projects from the beginning of development through completion of construction.

- Salary range is the non‑PERS monthly salary range; it increases by 6.95% for PERS‑eligible employees.
