Assistant Manager
Job location:
3892 Center Street NE - Salem, OR 97301.
Salary: $58,656.00 - $68,700.00.
Responsibilities- Assist the General Manager with overseeing the operation of the entire restaurant.
- Maintain a safe environment and improve bottom line profitability through appropriate revenue management.
- Supervise the operation of the restaurant on a shift‑by‑shift basis.
- Assist the General Manager with staffing planning, hiring decisions, and manager meetings.
- Create, develop, and implement incentive programs and contests in collaboration with department managers.
- Motivate team members to participate in company promotions and incentives.
- Provide regular performance feedback and recognition to department managers and team members, including timely performance appraisals.
- Coach other managers on effective performance management procedures.
- Assist with the ongoing performance management and development of assigned department managers.
- Actively identify techniques to attract new guests.
- Manage the Guest Comment program, ensure timely resolution of guest complaints, and provide coaching to managers on complaint handling.
- Facilitate adherence to new food product rollouts.
- Ensure teams meet or exceed company standards for serving quality products, recipe adherence, and portioning.
- Communicate areas of opportunity to department managers.
- Coach and direct managers and team members on quality, service, cleanliness standards, and inventory levels.
- Analyze performance measurement tools (GEM, QSCs, audits, P&L), troubleshoot problems, devise and monitor action plans.
- Enter invoices, inventory, and end‑of‑day procedures for administrative manager functions.
- Monitor repair and maintenance, manage preventive maintenance program.
- Hold department managers accountable for cost control of their departments.
- Maintain proper inventory levels on all food and paper products.
- Participate in departmental meetings, assist in communicating successes, new procedures, and opportunities.
- Establish daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly projections.
- Interpret P&L statements, create action plans for problem areas.
- Assist the General Manager in creating the annual restaurant budget.
- Teach department managers how to meet or exceed budgeted profit goals, analyze trends, and troubleshoot problems.
- Complete other assigned duties or tasks as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 1–3 years of restaurant or leadership experience preferred.
- Understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, and responsible alcohol service preferred.
- Strong team‑first mindset; enjoy supporting teams, building culture, leading by example.
