Your role with usAs the Medical Staff Services Manager, you will lead a highly specialized team responsible for supporting the integrity, compliance, and effectiveness of the medical staff credentialing and privileging process. This role sits at the intersection of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, physician engagement, and process improvement, making it critical to both organizational success and patient safety.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of Medical Staff Services, ensuring providers are credentialed, privileged, and reappointed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with complex regulatory, accreditation, and governance requirements. As the department's operational expert, you'll serve as a trusted resource for medical staff leaders, physicians, and organizational stakeholders, helping navigate complex situations, interpret standards, and manage risk.

What you'll do- Lead all Medical Staff Services operations related to credentialing, privileging, appointments, reappointments, temporary privileges, and provider enrollment activities.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of provider applications and credentialing workflows.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on credentialing standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation expectations, and medical staff governance.
- Review complex credentialing matters and provide guidance regarding eligibility, privileges, adverse findings, and risk-related concerns.
- Support professional practice evaluation processes and Medical Staff committee operations, including preparation, coordination, documentation, and follow-up activities.
- Monitor provider data integrity, operational controls, and department performance metrics.
- Identify operational risks, workload concerns, delays, and process gaps, implementing solutions to improve performance and compliance.
- Escalate complex, high-risk, or noncompliant situations to appropriate leadership with well-developed recommendations.
- Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate a team of Medical Staff Coordinators, Credentialing Specialists, Analysts, and other support staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and professional development opportunities.
- Manage departmental staffing, workload distribution, technology resources, budgets, and operational priorities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, respect, customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the development, execution, and sustainment of departmental Lean initiatives and A3 strategies.
- Use data, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve processes, eliminate waste, and drive sustainable results.
- Partner closely with physicians, medical staff leaders, executives, regulatory bodies, and organizational stakeholders to support operational excellence.
- Ensure department readiness for audits, surveys, accreditation reviews, and regulatory assessments.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements and the ability to interpret and apply complex standards within hospital operations.
