** The Role*
* The Planning Engineer II applies approved technologies and architectures to specific requirements for additions to support growth and new services at Lumen.

** The Main Responsibilities*
* + Develops/defines plans for the implementation of new plant construction or modifications to existing facilities.

+ Prepares plans and specifications, to include gathering field data.

+ Assures that the most feasible, practical and economical means to complete the work are utilized. Provides cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.

+ Monitors and controls project expenditures.

+ Oversees the installation/construction and testing of plant facilities.

+ Skilled in planning and/or engineering.

+ Analyzes local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.

+ Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like.

+ Configures systems to user environments.

+ Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

+ Requires direction and guidance with few tasks.

* + Fully seasoned with 5+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree

+ Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.

+  Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.

+ Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

+ Strong data/economic analysis skills

+ Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

+ Detail oriented with an intense focus on quality

+ Proven track record as adept and effective project manager

+ Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communications skills

+ Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio & SQL

+ Positive and professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor

** Preferred:*
* + Master's degree in related field and 2+ years of related experience

+ Experience in an engineering role that included a substantial business/financial focus

** Compensation*
* This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$66,375 - $88,500 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, , IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$69,694 - $92,925 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$73,013 - $97,350 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
