As a Packaging Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality products to our consumers by ensuring packaging equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will help maximize production performance, minimize waste, maintain quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives that keep our operations running at their best.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…Packaging Equipment Operations
Safely operate and monitor snack food packaging machinery to ensure continuous production.
Review production schedules and prepare equipment and materials to meet production requirements.
Maintain packaging equipment by monitoring and verifying codes, dates, prices, and packaging specifications.
Ensure adequate supplies of roll stock and packaging materials are available for production.
Adjust machine settings and micro-logic controls to maintain efficient operation and minimize waste.
Perform machine setups, product changeovers, startup procedures, normal operation, shutdown activities, and sanitation cleanups.
Plan and execute efficient product changeovers to minimize downtime.
Quality & Production MonitoringMonitor machine performance and ensure equipment is operating at standard production speeds.
Verify proper film cutoff and ensure bags meet seal quality standards, including end seals and back seals.
Monitor product weights and appearance to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Properly account for product run-off and perform rework activities as required.
Identify and communicate quality or operational concerns promptly.
Troubleshooting & Equipment CareMonitor equipment performance and make operational adjustments as needed.
Keep machines clean and operating efficiently.
Report maintenance concerns immediately to Maintenance or Production Leadership.
Assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and machine performance.
Safety, Sanitation & HousekeepingFollow all safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.
Maintain clean work areas and equipment in accordance with plant sanitation requirements.
Store supplies and materials in designated locations.
Maintain clear aisles, exits, and work spaces.
Remove waste and debris from work areas.
Follow safe lifting, carrying, and material handling procedures.
Report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, and workplace injuries promptly.
Team Support & LeadershipProvide guidance and direction to Packers when needed.
Support training efforts and assist team members during production activities.
Serve as a backup Packaging Coordinator or other technical/skilled positions when qualified.
Monitor and replenish seasoning systems, where applicable, to ensure proper product coverage.
Additional Responsibilities
Support overtime requirements as business needs dictate.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
