About the Role:

UKG is seeking a Employee Communications, Change Management Lead to develop and execute strategic communications that help employees understand, navigate, and adopt important changes across the organization. This role serves as a communications partner for business and organizational change initiatives, translating complex information into clear, compelling, and actionable communications that help employees understand what is changing, why it matters, how they may be impacted, and what they need to do.

The Employee Communications, Change Management Lead will partner closely with business leaders, Communications, People Teams, project and program leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders to plan and deliver communications across a range of initiatives, including organizational transformation, operating model changes, technology implementations, process changes, and other business priorities.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in change and employee communications, understands how business and organizational changes affect different audiences, and can independently lead complex communications work from planning through execution. This individual is skilled at navigating ambiguity, solving communication challenges, and influencing stakeholders to align around effective approaches.

About the Role:

Change Management Communications Strategy
  • Develop and execute change communication strategies and plans for complex, cross-functional business and organizational initiatives.
  • Translate business strategies, transformation programs, and organizational changes into clear narratives that explain what is changing, why it matters, what it means for employees, and what action is needed.
  • Assess audiences, impacts, communication needs, risks, and opportunities to determine appropriate messaging, channels, sequencing, and engagement approaches.
  • Build integrated communication plans that support employees throughout the change journey, from awareness and understanding through adoption and reinforcement.
  • Apply change management communications best practices while adapting approaches to the specific needs of the business, initiative, and audience.
  • Identify communication challenges and develop solutions that improve employee understanding, engagement, and readiness for change.
Messaging & Content Development
  • Develop clear and compelling messaging frameworks and narratives for complex or sensitive changes.
  • Create communications for multiple audiences and channels, including executive and leader communications, employee emails, articles, FAQs, talking points, presentations, toolkits, intranet content, and targeted communications.
  • Translate complex business, organizational, process, and technology information into simple, employee-centered communications.
  • Adapt messaging for executives, people leaders, impacted teams, and broader employee audiences while maintaining consistency in the core narrative.
  • Anticipate employee questions and concerns and incorporate that perspective into messaging and communications planning.
  • Ensure communications connect individual changes to relevant business priorities and the broader employee experience.
Leader & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Serve as a communications advisor to business leaders, project teams, and other stakeholders leading significant change.
  • Provide recommendations on communication strategy, messaging, timing, sequencing, audience needs, and potential employee response.
