Surgical Assistant, RN Nurse
Responsibilities
OR RN’s provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery. Duties include patient education, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially First Assist. Work alongside surgical teams to make sure that patients are receiving the best possible care; serve as liaisons between the surgical team and the patients ’ families. OR RN’s work in the operating room of a hospital.
There are several types of operating rooms depending on the type of surgery such as:
General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac/Thoracic.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
- ACLS is often required
Flexibility is a must. Bookings are done directly with the cln and the hospital. Hospital orientation seats are offered based off the date of the cln's completion of compliance. Day Shift. True Per diem. 3/31/26 end date.
