Position

Institution Registered Nurse (Salem) – Oregon State Penitentiary, Salem, Oregon.

$8,443 – $11,932 per month.

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, medication administration, and procedural management in accordance with ODOC policies, procedures, protocols, and evidence‑based standards of care.
• Coordinate on‑site and community‑based services to ensure optimal patient health outcomes.
• Educate patients and non‑medical staff and serve as a health‑care advocate within the correctional setting.
• Document patient care, medical requests, objective data, treatments, evaluations, and education accurately.
• Assist in unit operations, including supply management, narcotic inventory, needle and syringe counts, and equipment maintenance, in the absence of management staff.
• Maintain compliance with ODOC privacy, safety, and infection‑control protocols.

• Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse license (unencumbered preferred).
• Knowledge of nursing principles, pharmacology, disease processes, infection control, and medical ethics.
• Proficiency with medical terminology, pharmacology management, and personal computers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Social justice orientation and ability to work in high‑stress environments.
• Experience or interest in caring for mental‑health or substance‑abuse populations is advantageous.
• Eligibility for and maintenance of a CJIS background check.
