Unit Nurse Manager – Salem Campus
The Unit Nurse Manager supervises nursing personnel assigned to specific patient care wards and performs the duties assigned to them. The role includes responsibility for nursing care and services on a unit, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and involves hiring, disciplinary, evaluation, and termination decisions for subordinate nursing personnel. The manager also provides nursing input to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, monitors care provided, teaches skills, develops resources, contributes to policy and procedure development, and facilitates communication across disciplines.
Responsibilities- Oversee nursing care and services on a designated ward/unit 24/7.
- Conduct hiring, disciplinary, evaluation, and termination of subordinate nursing personnel.
- Resolve grievances at initial level for subordinate staff.
- Provide nursing input to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.
- Monitor nursing care, teach skills, and develop resources.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development and maintain inter‑disciplinary problem solving.
- Facilitate communication across the care team.
- Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Three years of nursing experience, including supervisory and/or teaching experience.
- Knowledge of nursing techniques and therapeutic interventions for patients with mental illness.
- Knowledge of supervisory techniques and work management of subordinate personnel.
- Understanding of administrative and educational principles involved in nursing administration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and serve as a positive role model.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and clear written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and ability to apply them accurately.
- Proven track record of building effective working relationships with diverse individuals and teams.
- Experience implementing initiatives to advance health equity and reduce systemic disparities.
- Must pass an abuse check, criminal records check, and driving records check that meet OHA criteria at the time of hire and throughout employment.

Bird 3. - Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑5:00pm. - Days off:
Saturday and Sunday. - Position is 100% in‑person.
