Job Description & How to Apply Below

Lewis Gale Medical Center, a full-service tertiary hospital known for advanced specialty and surgical services, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse Oncology to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adult oncology patients across the continuum of cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy support, surgical oncology, and palliative care.

You will perform thorough assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer chemotherapy and other oncology treatments safely, monitor for and manage side effects, and provide symptom management and education to patients and their families. Working closely with oncologists, surgeons, pharmacists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team, you will collaborate to coordinate complex treatment regimens, ensure continuity of care, and support patients through each phase of their cancer journey.

The Registered Nurse Oncology will utilize evidence-based nursing practices, follow all oncology clinical protocols and safety standards, and maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. You will advocate for patients’ physical and emotional needs, promote comfort and dignity, and serve as a key resource for patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, medications, community resources, and survivorship care.

You will participate in care conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and unit-based projects aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and patient experience. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition are essential.

At Lewis Gale Medical Center, you will work in a culture that emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and professional development within a supportive environment for both staff and patients. You will collaborate closely with experienced oncology nurses and leaders, engage in ongoing training and continuing education in oncology nursing, and have opportunities to expand your skills in areas such as chemotherapy administration, central line care, and palliative and end-of-life care.

This position is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about oncology, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and desires a meaningful role in helping patients and families navigate cancer treatment in a dynamic healthcare setting with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth.
