American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Oncology RN for a 13-week contract requiring MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.

Requirements
  • Active RN license required;
    Oregon pending licensure accepted at submission
  • Current BLS certification through AHA
  • Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with O2 protocol and non-invasive airway management
  • Experience with peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
  • Experience with rapid response team activation
  • Computerized documentation experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
Responsibilities
  • 5N Oncology unit, a 30-bed medical surgical oncology unit on the seventh floor of Building A
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours,
  • RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
  • CNA to patient ratio of 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights
  • Epic charting system used, experience required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within scope, with priority to West Valley Hospital, approximately 15 minutes away
  • Block scheduling not accommodated
  • Care for medical surgical oncology patients across all stages of cancer diagnosis, including end-of-life care
  • Obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration certification within one year of hire
  • Work integrated with Salem Health Cancer Institute and Palliative Care team for a holistic approach to patient care
  • Short term acute care hospital with Magnet designation, teaching status, and Level II Trauma Center
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • RTO requests over 2 weeks require approval and must be finalized at time of consideration
  • Former employees of this health system are not eligible for assignments until six months after employment termination
  • Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start and annually thereafter
