Job Purpose

This Consultant position focuses on driving sales growth, building market share, and meeting necessary sales and asset goals within the position’s assigned geographic territory. Through consultative selling strategies, individual performance, and collaboration with Regional Sales Representatives and other centers of influence, the consultant implements business plans and enhances product distribution to external retirement-focused advisors.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business plans and sales strategies that ensure attainment of regional sales goals.
  • Collaborate as a partner with assigned Regional Sales Representatives to provide proactive sales and marketing support and to ensure effective professional proposals and sales presentations.
  • Follow the prescribed sales process by generating new opportunities and tracking them through the sales stages for effective pipeline management.
  • Document designated activities and other pertinent information as required.
  • Effectively and efficiently expand relationships with retirement-focused advisors in the assigned territory.
  • Serve as key contact for external financial advisors for sales activities, including proposal generation, follow‑up, Request for Proposals (RFP), and installation paperwork.
  • Continuously stay informed and knowledgeable of the overall retirement plan industry and products, and translate this knowledge to others by building and implementing sales strategies leveraging marketplace knowledge.
  • Assist advisors in developing higher levels of product knowledge and sales strategies.
  • Utilize face‑to‑face, outbound calling and web technologies to communicate and provide sales strategies and case design to help advisors make new sales, train on new product releases, and communicate economic and industry data relevant to the use of our products.
  • Provide inbound telephone support, including answering product questions, following up on requests for information and illustrations and proposals, delivering ad hoc training, and providing timely responses to problems encountered in the field.
  • Utilize contact management tools and data to enhance the level of field support, improve territory management and decision‑making.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work history.
  • 3+ years of financial services sales experience.
  • Proven leadership as an individual contributor and experience in team‑based environments.
  • Demonstrated sales & marketing knowledge and appropriate applications within the context of a needs‑based environment.
  • Capable of presenting technical product knowledge with professional phone skills.
  • Proven ability to grow a sales territory.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects while meeting related deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials Examination, Series6 and
    63, and Life and Variable insurance licenses.
  • Variable Life License in all states of the assigned geographic territory within 90 days of employment.
  • Willingness to travel within territory as needed (10%-20%).
Compensation

Base Salary Range: $56,300.00 - $93,800.00. In addition to base pay, the position may be eligible for an annual incentive (bonus) plan.
