Salary and Incentives- Step 1: $39.11 hourly, $6,779.07 monthly
- Step 2: $41.07 hourly, $7,118.80 monthly

- Step 5: $47.54 hourly, $8,240.27 monthly

Minimum Qualifications- At least 21 years old at date of hire.
- U.S. Citizen or able to become one within 18 months.
- Pass competitive testing including physical fitness, reading comprehension, writing skills, vision, hearing and psychological examinations; pass a strict police department background investigation.
- Pass the pre‑employment drug test (including marijuana).
- Pass the pre‑employment background check.
- Meet Oregon’s minimum standards for law‑enforcement officers per OAR 259‑008.
- Be able to work periodic overtime and a variety of 24‑hour rotating shifts including holidays and weekends.
- High school graduate or have completed a GED.
- Complete departmental recruit training and obtain the Basic Certificate issued by the DPSST.
- Hold a valid Oregon driver’s license, or obtain one by date of hire; pass driving records check; maintain a satisfactory record.
- Any convictions under OAR 259‑008.
- No felony convictions.
- No convictions for domestic violence crimes.
- No dishonorable discharge from any military service.
- No more than three traffic convictions in the last three years.
Applicants must submit completed application and valid test results for the NTN Frontline National Test (NTN) and Oregon Physical Agility Test (ORPAT) or an out‑of‑state PAT equivalent by June 29, 2026.
NTN & ORPAT/PAT Requirements: 70% in Writing, 70% in Reading, 65% in Video/Media. ORPAT must be completed in 6:30 or less; DPSST requires 5:30 or less for graduation.
