Position Title
Correctional Corporal (OSCI) – Multiple Permanent and Job Rotation opportunities for ODOC and OCE employees only.
About the Job – Your RoleAs a Correctional Corporal, you will serve as a key member of the security team, providing custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody (AICs). You will supervise AICs in housing units, control points, program and work assignments, and designated security areas; maintain order, enforce institutional rules, and respond to emergencies and critical incidents with professionalism and sound judgment;
assist in training and mentoring staff.
- One (1) year of experience in a correctional security setting where primary duties were the care and custody of AICs.
- Ability to obtain, within two weeks, an Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Correctional Certificate or a Correctional Certificate from another government agency.
- High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Age 21 years or older.
- United States Citizen.
- Ability to obtain a valid Oregon motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint‑based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
Salary range for non‑PERS qualifying applicants: $6,149 – $7,785. PERS qualifying applicants may receive an adjusted range reflecting an additional 6.95 %. The State of Oregon provides a generous benefit package, which includes:
