Salary Range: $6,149 - $7,785.
As a Correctional Corporal, you will serve as a key member of the security team, providing custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody (AICs). The role is essential in upholding the mission of the Department by ensuring a safe, secure, and rehabilitative environment for both staff and individuals in custody.
- Supervise AICs in housing units, control points, program and work assignments, and designated security areas.
- Maintain order and enforce institutional rules.
- Respond to emergencies and critical incidents with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Assist in training and mentoring staff.
- One (1) year of experience in a correctional security setting where primary duties were care and custody of AICs.
- Be able to obtain, within two weeks, an Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Correctional Certificate or a Correctional Certificate from another government agency.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Be 21 years of age or older and a United States Citizen.
- Education will not be accepted as a substitute for the required experience.
- Ability to obtain a valid Oregon motor vehicle operator's license.
