PainterThe purpose of this position is to perform skilled work of the painter trade. This includes hanging wall coverings, preparing surfaces for painting, applying paints (such as latex or oils), and replacing broken glass. This person must work with other trades during remodeling in a secure mental hospital with approximately 750 patients and over 1 million square feet of space. The employee must also follow facilities tool and sharps policies and the responsibilities outlined in the Painter classification series and job profile specifications.
ScheduleMon‑Fri 7am‑3:30pm
Minimum Qualifications- Completed painter apprenticeship training and be a journey worker
- Three years of varied painting experience
- Experience preparing surfaces for painting
- Experience applying paint with various tools
- Experience replacing broken glass, cutting glass to size, cleaning out broken glass and putty, refitting to sash with putty or molding
- Experience installing wall coverings, including murals, wallpaper and protective coverings
- Experience maintaining an inventory of materials and reporting to supervisor or lead person
