Refrigeration Installation Journeyman

Cool Sys is hiring a Refrigeration Installation Journeyman to install and start up commercial and industrial refrigeration systems for construction projects. You'll read blueprints, braze and pipe systems, evacuate and charge refrigerant, and verify performance to codes and standards. Working in a safety first, team oriented culture, you'll solve field issues, support apprentices, and deliver reliable, energy efficient systems. Responsibilities

• Install, start up, and commission commercial and industrial refrigeration systems per specifications and codes
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams to lay out equipment and refrigerant lines
• Braise, weld, and assemble refrigeration piping, valves, and related components safely and accurately
• Perform system testing, evacuation, charging, and verification of proper operation and setpoints
• Troubleshoot installation issues and coordinate with project managers and engineers to resolve field problems
• Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including EPA and local mechanical codes
• Complete job documentation, including material usage, test results, and change reports
• Collaborate with apprentices, technicians, and contractors to meet project timelines and customer expectations
• Operate power tools, lifts, and test equipment following Cool
• Sys safety procedures
• Provide professional, customer-focused communication at job sites and represent Cool
