Maintenance Technicians and Foremen play a vital leadership role in delivering top-quality service, ensuring safety, and adhering to Pfeifer’s standards on every project. They prioritize efficiency, exceptional customer service, and effective communication while developing technical expertise specific to their tier. Foremen additionally oversee team performance and accountability.

• Accept accountability for actions and project outcomes.
• Ensure production, quality, and safety standards are met.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain efficiency by securing materials and keeping trailer/van inventory stocked.
• Communicate consistently with the Foreman and Superintendent.
• Document projects thoroughly with photos, detailed field notes, and customer conversation records.

• Perform essential tasks:
  • Prep:
    Relocate exterior furniture, protect landscaping and home.
  • Cleanup:
    Clear roof, gutters, and grounds; use magnet roller.
  • Inventory & Vehicle:
    Obtain materials, maintain stock, keep van clean and organized.

• Preferred:
  English proficiency and driving skills (may qualify for pay differential).
• Show eagerness to learn daily.
• Possess required tools and keep self, tools, van, materials, and equipment organized.
• Perform roof cleanings and maintenance on all roof types and pitches.
• Understand cleaning/maintenance products and their application, including Roof Maxx.
• Provide accurate, detailed job reports (field notes, photos).
• Communicate reliably with Foreman and Superintendent.
• Assist other crew members willingly, even without task expertise.
• Demonstrate basic cleaning/maintenance knowledge for:
  • Metal, tile, flat, and composite roofs.

• Master all Tier 1 skills.
• Perform basic roof leak repairs and maintenance, including:
  • Replace pipe flashing, roof vents, shingles, and fascia.
  • Seal roof flashings and gutter miters.
  • Place tarps.
  • Install roof and chimney/skylight flashings.
  • Patch flat roofs.
  • Replace valleys.
• Show basic tune-up knowledge for:
  • Metal, tile, flat, and composite roofs.

• Master all Tier 2 skills.
• Investigate, identify, and repair all types of roof leaks.
• Replace valleys and perform mid-size valley/flashing work on all roofs.
• Install sun tunnels and understand their systems.
• Install chimney and counter flashing.
• Repair roof decks (e.g., T&G, plywood).
• Replace fascia and soffit accurately.
• Apply basic painting, caulking, and siding skills.
• Patch various flat roofs (membrane, deck shield, cap sheet).
• Repair tile roofs.
• Understand basic products (membranes, caulking, siding, shingles, mastics, underlayment, ice/water shields).
• Take ownership of department safety, quality, and production.
• Assess roofs, communicate findings, and recommend upgrades.
• Preferred:
  Bilingual and clean driving record.
• Able to lead crew and communicate professionally with customers and supervisors.

Roof Installers work in various outdoor conditions and should be comfortable with:

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, and adverse weather conditions
• Frequent exposure to vibrations and loud noise levels
• Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
• A fast-paced, safety-focused job site

The duties of the Maintenance Foreman may be reasonably modified occasionally at Pfeifer Roofing, Inc’s discretion.
