Oregon Youth Authority seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Group Life Coordinator 2 (GLC2) at Camp Tillamook Youth Transitional Facility. This role requires supervising youth in a 24/7 correctional environment, ensuring safety, implementing policies, and supporting youth in achieving goals.
Responsibilities- Provide continuous interactive supervision of youth.
- Oversee daily activities, transport youth for programming, appointments, and community activities.
- Build rapport, address and redirect behavior, model pro‑social skills, and support individual goals.
- Coach, confront, and correct youth behavior as needed.
- Observe, document youth behavior and participation in programs.
- Monitor for health and safety risks, including suicide prevention.
- Conduct security inspections and searches of housing units.
- Administer medications under indirect supervision of medical staff.
- High school diploma, GED, or higher education; plus at least 6 months full‑time experience in behavioral observation; or Associate degree in behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
- For GLC1 (under‑fill): same high school diploma or GED requirement.
- 21 years old or older, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record.
- Physical Abilities Test (PAT) demonstrated.
- Experience in team settings and communication.
- Problem‑solving, mentoring or coaching experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Union representation by SEIU/OPEU.
