YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Job Status: Part-time
Hours: 16 hrs/wk, Graveyard - Friday and Saturday
Northwest Human Services (NWHS) seeks a caring and dedicated Youth Development Specialist to join our HOST Program, supporting at‑risk and unsheltered young adults ages 18–24.
POSITION OVERVIEWAs our Youth Development Specialist, you will collaboratively and compassionately work with unsheltered and street‑oriented young adults, ages 18–24. You will provide direct care and supervision in our overnight shelter, handling safety and security matters, offering emotional/crisis support, and maintaining light cleaning and upkeep of the facility. You will also assist with service documentation and compliance monitoring.
HOST Program in ActionHOST provides safety, support and resources for at‑risk and unsheltered young adults. Our Daytime Resource Center is a safe space where youth can access basic needs and support services. Our Transitional Living Program is a multi‑phase program for enrolled young adults ages 18–24 who receive 24‑hour support and work closely with Case Managers to set and accomplish health, housing, education and employment goals.
QUALIFICATIONS- Associate’s degree in psychology, sociology, human development, education, criminal justice or a related field.
- Minimum one year of experience working with youth or young adult population.
- Experience with at‑risk youth/young adults preferred.
- Oregon Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance required; a motor vehicle report is conducted prior to hire.
