Summaryof Duties
- Conduct interviews to determine family needs and eligibility, and complete program applications for program benefits and, if eligible, issue appropriate support.
- Engage clients in family evaluation of strengths and jointly develop a case plan and identify the steps the family will take toward self-sufficiency and meeting their basic needs.
- Monitor progress, needs, and make necessary modifications to the case plan.
- Initiate and participate in case staffing, employment readiness, life skills training, and supports job search as needed.
- Assist with crisis and safety planning for individuals experiencing domestic violence.
- Explore alternate resources and link clients to community services and may also assist with supporting resources and services within the community.
- A Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field.
- A Bachelor's degree in any field and one year of human services related experience.
- An Associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field AND two years of human services related experience.
- Three years of human services related experience.
- Experience supporting families with case management tools and resources.
- Experience creating and maintaining written documentation of activities concerning individual client cases.
- Experience with case management and assessing customers’ strengths & service needs.
- Experience in communicating, establishing boundaries and setting realistic goals/milestones.
- Experience explaining complex rules, regulations, processes, and procedures both verbally and in written communications.
- Your work schedule will be 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST, Monday – Friday.
- This position is in a store-front office.
- The role requires flexibility to assist various district offices on a temporary and long-term basis, ensuring continuity of operations.
- You will be working in a fast paced environment at times.
- High volume of individual and family contact.
- You will be exposed to a diverse range of customers and will need to respond with compassion and professionalism through a cultural and trauma informed lens.
- You will have contact with a range of people including some who may be experiencing emotional and financial stress.
- You will work with domestic violence survivors. These situations may be stressful and understanding self-care and available resources are important.
- Employees work in offices, participant’s homes, and other community sites.
- Hours of work may vary from day to day and may include evenings and weekends.
- This position requires flexibility to work various hours, to flex in/out to allow for attending local events.
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

- The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
