Job Title: Case Manager, Home Study & Post Release Services

Salary: $26.94/hr – $28.59/hr
Job SummaryThe Case Manager is responsible for providing case management and supportive services to unaccompanied immigrant children released from federal custody.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct home visits and phone contacts to assess safety and appropriateness of the child’s placement with the sponsor and connect the child to community services to address risk factors.
- Perform ongoing case management with a focus on screening and making appropriate referrals for placement issues, safety, education, health, mental health, legal/immigration proceedings, substance abuse, independent living, juvenile/criminal justice and child enrichment.
- Provide crisis intervention services directly or connect families to services to ensure the minor’s safety and well‑being in a crisis.
- Submit detailed and thorough documentation in accordance with agency and ORR requirements.
- Utilize social work best practices for thorough assessments of client progress and services provided.
- Carry a case load varying by program need:
Staff‑to‑case ratios will establish caseloads of 1:25 but may, with ORR’s permission, have a case load not to exceed 1:40. - Complete Notice of Concerns (NOCs) per federal policy requirements.
- Maintain case file documentation in accordance with ORR requirements and conduct internal chart reviews to monitor documentation compliance.
- Participate in team meetings, staff in‑service training and department meetings.
- Complete timely and accurate timesheets and other personnel/administrative records as required.
- Be aware of the Morrison Compliance Program, including the Compliance Officer, Compliance Standards of Conduct, and Employee Compliance Hotline. Understand the Standards of Conduct and sign the attestation document. Complete all assigned compliance, HIPAA, client privacy, and fraud, waste, and abuse training. Know how to report any client privacy or fraud, waste, or abuse concerns.
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
- Participate in staff development, in‑services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma‑informed behavioral healthcare organization.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of the program/department.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing in English.
- Apply applicable federal and state laws.
- Administer policies, procedures, and programs.
- Interpret information, utilize critical thinking, and explain concepts to others.
- Maintain effective working relationships with agency employees at all levels and the general public.
- Define and resolve moderately complex problems.
- Provide trauma‑informed responsive‑appropriate care.
- Hold each other and yourself accountable to all individuals within Morrison, our clients, and our community stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science.
- Bi‑lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal; must clear a language proficiency test.
- Experience working with immigrant populations.
- Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in the position (ORR).
We consider education, training, experience, and demonstrated skills. Exceptions to the minimum qualifications require ORR’s explicit written approval prior to hire and may require supervision plans and additional training.
Preferred Position Qualifications- Knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare.
- Experience writing professional, thorough assessment reports.
