The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a collaborative and motivated Youth Corrections Youth Coordinator – Case Coordinator at the Mac Laren Youth Correctional Facility to support the leadership and daily operations of a specialized mental health residential living unit while promoting a culture grounded in Positive Human Development (PHD). This position assists the Living Unit Manager (LUM) with unit leadership, staff development, operational coordination, and maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for youth and staff.

As a key member of the Unit Leadership Team, this role performs youth case management duties, including developing and maintaining Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) Case Plans and Agency Case Review (ACR) documentation, facilitating multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and supporting youth participation in programming. The Case Coordinator also helps develop unit programming, provides insight regarding youth and staff needs, and supports effective unit operations.

The Case Coordinator may provide direction in the absence of the LUM.

We are looking for candidates with strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. Experience with case planning, trauma-informed care, MDT facilitation, ACR documentation, and JJIS is highly valued. • Provide case management services for youth assigned to the living unit.
• Assist the Living Unit Manager (LUM) in developing and implementing procedures that promote effective staff engagement and positive interactions with youth.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with youth service providers and prepare accurate, comprehensive technical documentation for use in court hearings and other legal proceedings.

• A bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field; OR
• Three years of experience observing, evaluating, and recording behavior and maintaining discipline of individuals in a program related to juvenile justice, treatment programs, or special education within an institution or residential living unit; OR
• An associate degree from an accredited school in a behavioral science or equivalent training program with an emphasis on juvenile systems, special education, and/or secondary education AND one year experience working in a juvenile justice, treatment, or secondary education program.

Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre‑employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

• Strong technical and professional writing skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and detailed documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and competing deadlines concurrently.
• Experience coordinating and facilitating case reviews, case planning, and trauma-informed care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively share pertinent information and foster communication among living unit staff.
