Our client seeks an Application Engineer II to support enterprise content services initiatives with a focus on formal software engineering practices. The role advances modernization efforts and promotes reliable, maintainable applications within a structured environment.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr w2
Responsibilities- Analyze and study complex system and application requirements.
- Design software tools, subsystems, and components to support software reuse and domain analysis.
- Manage implementation of software solutions across the development lifecycle.
- Develop and manage software using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques.
- Utilize Computer Aided Software Engineering tools for software design and documentation.
- Estimate software development costs and schedules.
- Review existing programs and assist with refinements to improve performance, reduce operating time, and enhance current techniques.
- Supervise and support software configuration management activities.
- Ensure adherence to established software engineering standards and best practices.
- Experience analyzing complex software system requirements.
- Experience designing and implementing software tools or subsystems.
- Familiarity with formal software design methodologies and documentation techniques.
- Experience with software configuration management.
- Ability to estimate software development effort, cost, and schedules.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in a structured federal IT environment.
- Experience supporting federal government IT systems (preferred).
- Experience in enterprise application environments (preferred).
- Experience improving or modernizing existing software systems (preferred).
