Job

Position Overview

River Bend Materials, part of the CRH West Division, seeks a qualified dump truck driver. The role involves driving a truck and pup or truck and transfer to deliver materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, or asphalt to construction and customer sites throughout the area. This position offers a dynamic, growth‑oriented environment with opportunities for training, overtime, and career advancement.

Compensation

& Schedule
  • Wage: DOE with potential for overtime
  • Shift: Primarily 10 hours per day, 5 days per week; may work additional hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and up to 6 days per week as required by DOT regulations and busy seasons.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL and current interstate DOT medical card.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission.
  • Safety‑mindful professional with good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Pass pre‑employment physical exam and controlled substance testing.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Current U.S. authorization to work or ability to obtain it prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior dump truck driving experience or general commercial driving experience in a construction setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the vehicle in a clean and orderly condition inside and out.
  • Operate the truck safely and efficiently within its designed parameters to deliver materials to construction and customer sites, following applicable laws.
  • Monitor gauges, investigate abnormal conditions, and perform operator maintenance and minor field repairs.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to shop personnel.
  • Communicate efficiently with dispatch and follow instructions.
  • Check delivery tickets for special instructions and complete them prior to arrival on the job.
  • Ensure proper loading of materials in a safe manner and obtain required signatures.
  • Accurately record on‑job information on customer delivery invoices.
  • Operate trucks on paved and unpaved surfaces, including rough or uneven off‑road conditions.
  • Move material as necessary and assist in other production areas such as shoveling, running plant loader, operating roller, or driving water truck.
  • Maintain operator logs, time cards, mileage sheets, vehicle repair sheets, and records in accordance with company policy.
  • Use computer for Zonar and Trackit, and keep tailgate latched, sideboards, trailer tongues, and back of truck free of materials.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrate regular and timely attendance and participate in an inclusive work environment.

Physical & Work Environment
  • Frequent sitting, climbing, use of hands to signal and handle equipment.
