Office Specialist 2 – Front Desk Reception.
Job Duties
In this position, you will support the department by providing centralized services to the public and department personnel stationed throughout the state, including General Headquarters (GHQ). You will be responsible for greeting visitors at the front reception, ensuring security protocols are met before granting access to the building, using a multi-line telephone system to field inquiries, and processing incoming mail and payments for services provided.
Additionally, you will be responsible for inventorying and stocking central supplies, distributing received shipments, and at times providing clerical support to other divisions of the department.
- Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
- An associate degree in any field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in, at times, challenging circumstances.
- Experience receiving incoming mail and packages; determining appropriate distribution of received mail and packages.
- Ability to operate office equipment such as computer terminal or photocopier.
- Experience receiving, screening, and routing telephone calls on a multiline telephone system.
- Experience handling cash and other monetary transactions, ordering supplies, and monitoring inventory.
