The role:
Join our team at DMV headquarters in Salem as a CDL examiner compliance coordinator. In this position, you will perform work related to regulatory compliance for third party companies that offer commercial driver license (CDL) examinations. You will coordinate contracts, provide training, ensure compliance and impose sanctions when needed against businesses for non-compliance. A day in the life:
Establish compliance standards and procedures for assigned programs.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding commercial driving and ensure alignment with administrative rules, program policies and third party testing and training contracts.
Analyze, interpret and apply laws, rules and agency policy to assist with compliance issues inside or outside the agency. Assist in handling regulatory complaints.
Provide comprehensive training to third party CDL examiners.
Identify training related issues or skills gaps and develop plans to address them.
Create, update and refine training guidelines and materials as needed for CDL examiners ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
Assist with administrative reviews as needed and testify in court regarding Third Party administrative hearings.
Monitor testers, trainers and examiners for compliance with all program requirements and contractual obligations. Document findings, prepare written reports and collect evidence when necessary.
Coordinate and manage various contracts and agreements related to third party skills testing and driver training.
Collaborate with Program Coordination manager to develop mission, priorities and goals assigned programs.
Serve as policy expert for assigned programs. Lead ongoing research, evaluation of procedures, draft rule amendments and ensure continued compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
Work is primarily performed in a typical office environment. Occasional travel and flexible work schedule to meet business needs may be required.
This position does require the ability to work closely with large commercial vehicles. This includes working outdoors in all weather conditions, being able to step or climb into commercial vehicles and working in congested areas safely.
Hybrid work options available 1-2 days per week after initial training period.

The salary range listed is the non-PERS monthly salary range. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.
