• Maintains the integrity of the Central Sterile Processing unit and uses supplies and other resources related to patient care, instruments, and equipment.
• Performs decontamination, disinfecting, and sterilization processes and keeps instruments and supplies at appropriate levels and in proper working order.
• Keeps accurate and complete documentation of all sterilization records.
• Maintains positive working relationships with coworkers and physicians, demonstrating and promoting professionalism.
• Participates in the orientation of new employees.
• Completes work with minimal supervision, adjusting to workload variations as assigned.
• Experiences unexceptional number of occurrences and consistently arrives at work on time.
• Attends required education and in‑services, attending extra classes if asked, and meets requirements for attendance at department meetings.
• Adheres to company ethics and compliance standards at work, including confidentiality and privacy, and appropriately refers questions.
• Follows established safety guidelines, including hand washing and use of PPE, and properly handles hazardous materials within the department.
• Identifies and analyzes problems, taking action when confronted with a problem and generally taking responsibility for actions when negative outcomes are identified.
• Offers opinions and ideas regarding improvements when asked and is willing to assist with solutions and participates in team efforts.

• Previous experience as a CSS Technician.
• High school or equivalency education.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician or Certified Regional Central Service Technician certification, maintained throughout employment.
