This role is ideal for a licensed or license‑eligible clinician who is passionate about providing trauma‑informed, person‑centered care to individuals across the lifespan.
The Mental Health Clinician serves as a catalyst for positive change by completing assessments, developing diagnostic formulations, providing psychotherapy, and collaborating with families, community partners, and the Virginia child welfare system. Clinicians also have opportunities to support clinically driven trainings and contribute to a strong, mission‑focused clinical culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults
- Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
- Respond to and support crisis situations, including on‑call crisis coverage (rotating)
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time in accordance with licensing and payer requirements
- Collaborate with treatment teams, case managers, and external stakeholders
- Maintain 22-24+ sessions weekly
- Participate in supervision, treatment team meetings, and consultations
- Support and/or deliver clinically driven trainings as assigned
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing standards (DBHDS, DMAS, CARF, and other EBPs)
- Represent Hope Tree Family Services professionally within the community
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Human Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field from an accredited program
- Experience providing psychotherapy and treatment planning
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with:
- Trauma and behavioral challenges
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
LPC Resident, LMFT Resident, or LCSW Supervisee accepted
Other Requirements:
- Experience with diagnostic formulation and clinical assessment
- Specialized training or certifications in trauma‑focused or experiential therapies
- Familiarity with child‑serving systems and interdisciplinary collaboration
Other
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to accept feedback - and adapt their own behavior in response to feedback.
- Possess an understanding of the rules of confidentiality.
- Experience in the Human Services field with knowledge of the licensing regulations for DSS, DBHDS, and DMAS is strongly preferred.
