We are seekinga HR Generalist to join our Office of Relations, Management, and Support (ORMS) teamat the Oregon Department of Education(ODE).
This position follows a hybrid work model. Onsite presence will be required when business or operational needs are best supported in person, such as collaboration, training, or work that requires access to onsite resources.
A driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, a personal vehicle, or an alternative means of transportation are required.
This is an FLSA-exempt position andfrequentlyexceeds a 40-hour work week andoccasionallymay require some evening and weekend work.
Employees approved to work remotely must have a reliable and secure internet connection andmaintaina professional work environment that supports productivity. While working remotely, employees are expected tomaintainthe same level of performance, responsiveness, communication, and availability as they wouldinthe office.
What you will do!This position serves as the subject matter expert inkey Human Resources functions, including protected leave administration, classification and position management, and employee relations and will provide support to training and development and the HR Business Partners. The role provides guidance and technicalassistanceto managers, supervisors, andrepresentedemployees on classification, compensation, and leave matters. Additionally, the position analyzes workforce data to support operational strategies and serves as a resource for Workday and other HR systems

- Administer classification and compensation programs by conducting position and organizational analyses, coordinating classification and position actions, ensuring pay equity compliance, and providing guidance on classification, salary administration, and position management.
- Analyze and report workforce and HR data by developing reports, dashboards, and metrics; monitoring trends and compliance issues; and providing data-driven recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Provide employee relations support byassistingwith investigations, complaint intake, grievances, disciplinary actions, public records requests, unemployment claims, and other employee relations matters.
Administer protected leave programs bydeterminingeligibility, coordinating leave case management, ensuring compliance with federal and state leavelaws,maintainingaccuraterecords, and providing consultation to employees and managers.
Serve as a cross-functional HR partner by collaborating with managers, payroll, budget staff, and agency stakeholders to ensureaccurateHR data, compliance with policies and collective bargaining agreements, and effective resolution of workforce issues.
