Aboutthe Role
As a Senior Project Manager
, you’ll take the lead on complex, high-impact projects that touch agencies across the state. In this role, you will guide enterprise-wide initiatives that directly support the efficiency and accuracy of Oregon’s HR and payroll operations.
- Lead large, complex Workday Oregon projects from strategy and planning through implementation
- Coordinate cross-agency project teams and collaborate with partners across the enterprise
- Manage scope, timelines, risks, issues, and project dependencies
- Ensure system solutions align with statewide policy, business requirements, and operational needs
- Drive adoption and successful change outcomes across agencies during system rollouts

What We Are Looking ForMinimum Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have:
- Seven years of professional level experience related to the class concept;
- OR Six years of professional level experience related to the class concept AND an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification;
- OR Four years of professional level experience related to the class concept AND a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field;
- OR Two years of professional level experience AND Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong leadership and project management discipline.
- Experience managing complex, multi-agency projects with diverse partners and customers.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, mitigating, and managing risks.
- Knowledge of IT system implementations or large-scale business transformations.
- Excellent communication, partner engagement, and change management skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Visio, and Smart Sheets.
