The MRO Coordinator is responsible for purchasing, coordinating, and managing maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) and other indirect materials required to support chemical manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary interface between the plant, suppliers, and corporate purchasing to ensure timely availability of consumables, services, and spare parts while maintaining compliance with purchasing policies, GMP requirements, and safety standards.

The MRO Coordinator plays a key role in cost control, supplier performance, and operational reliability in a regulated chemical manufacturing environment.

Purchasing & Inventory Support

• Purchase consumable materials, MRO items, and indirect supplies required to support manufacturing, maintenance, and plant operations.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with company purchasing policies and approval requirements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and system data within the purchasing/ERP system.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and EHS teams to ensure timely availability of required materials and services.
• Monitor inventory levels for critical MRO items and support replenishment strategies to minimize downtime and stockouts.

Supplier Management & Sourcing

• Serve as the primary Indirect / MRO interface for all internal customer requirements at the plant location.
• Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies, including identifying alternative sources of supply.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, standardization, and spend analysis.
• Assist in managing supplier relationships, including executing contracts, coordinating RFQs, and supporting proposal evaluations to ensure best overall value.
• Support and monitor key supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, cost, and service levels.

Compliance & Governance

• Drive and maintain compliance with corporate purchasing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support common Indirect / MRO strategies within the assigned region and/or plant location.
• Perform duties in compliance with GMP requirements, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Ensure purchased materials and services meet quality, safety, and environmental standards for chemical manufacturing.
• Support audits and inspections by providing purchasing and supplier documentation as required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Maintenance and Operations to support equipment reliability and plant uptime.
• Partner with Quality and EHS teams to ensure suppliers and materials meet compliance and safety expectations.
• Demonstrate a strong team focus while maintaining the ability to operate independently within the plant environment.

• High school diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in MRO, indirect purchasing, or supply chain support in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with ERP or purchasing systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, plant-based environment.
