Material Handler, General Labor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Package material for shipping
- Unpack received goods, verify count and stock in assigned location
- Load and unload trucks and move material around the plant with fork truck and pallet jack
- Participate in the effort to ensure smooth, controlled flow of materials
- Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence
- Maintain clean, organized shipping, receiving, and inventory areas
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in production operations; prior experience with shipping and receiving tasks is desired
- Fork truck license, current
- Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with persons at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, including a fork truck
- Light carpentry skills, including the ability to use small power tools
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and use a computer for long periods of time
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
- Must not have issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heated mechanical parts, adhesive fumes, airborne particles, and energized electrical systems. Moderate noise levels are present for limited periods of time. Appropriate PPE will be supplied.
HIRING SALARY RANGEUS $17.35–22.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
