Assembler, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Job Description

Assembler in the Motive Equipment location will produce quality components for locomotives under Wabtec’s ISO
9001 certified quality management system.

• Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards.
• Accurately complete assembly checklists.
• Monitor stock bins in the work area and report stock needs to the Shop Floor Lead(s).
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
• Adhere to the Wabtec Code of Conduct.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
• Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues and create solutions.
• Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement process changes.
• Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs, and procedures.

• Hear.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Stand and/or walk for 6 hours at a time, with minimal breaks.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Observe small handwriting, labels, and components with adequate vision.
• Operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Wear safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection in designated areas.
• Be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties.
• Engage in daily face‑to‑face interaction and communication with production line employees and management.

• Produce in a shop floor setting with variable temperatures and exposure to fumes and noise.

The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $18.50 – $20.00 per hour. The base pay may be influenced by training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and location. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement plans.
