Position Summary
The Production Quality Assurance and Control Technician is responsible for inspecting finished products, in-process production, and incoming materials to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements. This role performs visual and dimensional inspections, documents nonconformances, supports quality audits, and assists with investigations of basic production and supplier quality issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Inspect completed mechanical and electrical assemblies for compliance with engineering and quality specifications using visual and measurement techniques.
- Inspect in-process production and incoming components from suppliers; document and communicate nonconformances.
- Approve or reject finished products, in-process production, and incoming materials; return products for rework when requirements are not met.
- Perform first article inspections on new or revised supplier parts.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits and lead investigations on basic production quality issues.
- Calibrate, maintain, and properly use inspection tools, fixtures, and measurement instruments, including CMM equipment.
- Complete quality reports and accurately communicate inspection results to manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.
- Acquire, analyze, and report quality data in support of the quality management system.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing processes and supplier performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Comply with quality policies and procedures to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, and achievement of business goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track manufacturing and supplier quality performance; prepare and evaluate data for management review.
- Education
- Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Preferred:
Two-year degree in mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a light industrial, manufacturing, or machine shop environment
- Experience with precision parts and assemblies preferred
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, PPAP, SPC, and lean manufacturing principles preferred
- Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Proficiency using measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicator gauges, and CMM equipment
- Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, manufacturing processes, and statistical process control
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods; use hands for inspection, assembly, and tool operation; occasionally lift or move materials in accordance with company lifting standards; vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment; must be able to work with metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
Compensation and BenefitsHourly Range: $17.30 – $25.90. Compensation is based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, location, and market alignment. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
