Machine Operator

Chase Staffing NOW HIRING for a Machine Operator for an excellent facility located in Salem, VA $19-20/HR! 1ST SHIFT. The Machinist is responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts with little to no direct supervision. Produce small or large quantities of parts out of various types of materials (i.e. steel, aluminum, HDPE...). Ensure products meet precise specifications based on blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions or worn parts.

• Working knowledge of lathes, mills and a variety of manual equipment is necessary and an expert level of knowledge in either lathes or mills or both.
• Expert knowledge of conversational and/or CNC programming.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret a variety of blueprints found in machine shop work and work from sketches, process sheets, verbal instruction and worn or destroyed parts.
• Knowledge and understanding of machine shop mathematics, including basic algebra and geometry.
• Must have strong general mechanical skills.
• Must have some machinist tools.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and able to stand/walk for shift.
